Page 3—Boys’ changing bodies At the beginning of the school year, have students measure their height. Then, have them measure their height again at the end of the school year. Ask students to write down how many inches they grew during the year. Have students calculate the average of how many inches they grew each month. For an extra challenge, ask students to calculate the average of how many inches they grew each week, each day… even each hour. It’s not necessary to have students share their answers with the class, unless they want to. Students who haven’t grown much during the year may be embarrassed. Note: The green words that look like THIS in the workbook are intended to be used as vocabulary words (students may need your help pronouncing them).
