The activities below can help reinforce the material in this What’s Up ® workbook when used in the classroom. Many are experiential, helping students work together to better understand issues related to conserving water and to improve skills needed for success in school and life. You can also use these activities to help students meet select Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts (CCSS.ELA) and for Mathematics (CCSS.Mathematics). Point out that most of us take clean, safe water for granted, but that water is actually a threatened natural resource. Have students write down questions they have about water and the water supply. As they complete the workbook, they should jot down any answers to these questions that they come across. If they have unanswered questions after completing the workbook, have them use the library or Internet to find the answers.
